How are the CS1, CM1 and CR1 different?

There are two parts to this answer.
FIrst how they are different UNmodified.
Second how they are different once modified.
The most obvious difference is that each model is built in a different Speak toy: the Speak&Spell, SPeak&Math and Speak&Read. Each model uses the same hardware. The only difference is in what they are programmed to say. A French speaking Speak&Spell uses the same hardware as a German one. They have just been programmed differently. (btw I do NOT have any french or german Speaks for sale)
They all make relatively similar sounds when modified. The Glitch sounds from a Speak&Spell are very similar to the glitch sounds from a Speak&Math. One may say math related words once in a while while the other will ask you to spell things amidst garbled rants and blips. The LOOP and HOLD features are very similar form unit to unit but the effects generated using these effects can vary drastically in the same unit.

Can I plug the C1 into an amp?

Yes, the C1 has an 1/8″ headphone out and a 1/4″ (standard guitar cable) out. Both of these can be used to plug the C1 into external gear.

Does the C1 work on battery power?

YES it can be powered with 4 “C” batteries or an AC adapter.

Is the AC adapter included?

NO.

What kind of an adapter should I use?

6VDC positive tip with at least 100mA.

Is the joystick included?

No. Joysticks are available for $15. Joysticks are not always in stock, so be sure to inquire about availability before sending payment.

Why should I buy a joystick from you?

Out of the 15 joysticks I’ve bought so far, about 1/3 of them have been faulty in some way. Usually one of the directions or the trigger is non responsive. You can find relatively cheap joysticks on ebay but there’s no guarantee they will work perfectly. Selling joysticks is not a very profitable endeavor for me so I encourage you to find them on your own. BUT I’m also happy to make them available when I can. Each joystick I sell has been tested and cleaned and is guaranteed to be fully functional.

How much is shipping?

Shipping within the USA is $15 for USPS priority. All international shipping will be calculated on line. International buyers pay actual shipping cost plus a $5 handling fee.

Do I have a choice of shipping methods?

I prefer USPS priority shipping and I always include delivery confirmation. If you prefer an alternate shipping method, contact me and we can work it out. Alternate methods most often are more expensive and will include extra handling fees.
