The Elfman
I made this piece for Danny Elfman in 2002. It’s the first piano keyboard S&S I built and it was definitely my most ambitious piece at the time. One of the stranger features of this piece is the geared pitch adjustment. The pitch adjustment knob has a small gear on it. This engages a larger gear which is attached to the pitch control potentiometer. The larger gear turns once for every three turns of the smaller one. This allows the user to make very subtle adjustments to the pitch.
